GBT Technologies Inc. (OTC PINK:GTCH) is evaluating a hybrid approach involving conventional and Software Defined Radio (SDR) technologies for its GEN II long range radio system, codenamed Infinia. According to the press release this second generation version aims “to be integrated with GBT’s AI technology with the goal of enabling intelligent communication applications for civil and military domains.” Danny Rittman, the company’s CTO, explained:
“We will be using SDR technology for our base units to perform as the brain of the system, identifying and obtaining optimal communication routes for mobile units that will be conventional HF technology based. The main idea is to have an intelligent software control base unit that will also operate as relays receiving communication requests from mobile units. The base units will be constantly studying Earth’s ionospheric conditions, calculating the best communication path. Using this information, the base units will define the optimal routes and frequencies to ensure a clear, reliable voice and data communication between the requesting mobile units.”
Verizon Connect, a division of Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ), has announced the unveiling of its advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) Dashcam. The Dashcam leverages advanced AI to “enable real-time detection of potentially dangerous driving events and to boost driver safety,” and “provides audible alerts to drivers when it detects unsafe driving, including signs of tiredness, distraction and phone usage and then tells drivers to take corrective action.” Erin Cave, Verizon Connect director of product management, said:
“The new AI Dashcam includes advanced features that are designed to boost safety and provide greater insight for fleet managers. The new technology provides a significant step to help our customers future-proof their fleets.”
